GODHADI1998

Godhadis articulate the concept of fragmentation and gaze further. Parts of the female body are painted on small pieces of fabric and are joined together in the godhadi format, to evoke an experience of women’s restricted spaces. But, the women in these works move with confidence. They stand empowered, fully in control of themselves, confronting the gaze. They hold hands, make a human chain, thus evoking a community feeling, a sense of solidarity.
